 In 2006, Build-A-Bear Workshop began work with Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation on their “it’s hip 2 help” event. Eight participating Build-A-Bear Workshop stores hosted the event whereby guests were invited to build dolls at no cost to be donated to the local Starlight Starbright-affiliated hospital. In 2007, Build-A-Bear Workshop, partnered with Disney to create Build-A-Bear and Disney Give the Gift of Friendship, especially for hospitalized children served by Starlight Starbright. BABW guests purchased a Winnie the Pooh Bear, and then created another Winnie the Pooh Bear, free of charge, to donate to a pediatric patient. This promotion was held in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Build-A-Bear Workshop continues to support Starlight Starbright by hosting Great Escapes throughout the United States.
