Build-A-Bear Workshop has partnered with Starlight as part of the company's “it’s hip 2 help” program during which participating Build-A-Bear Workshop stores invite their guests to build dolls at no cost to be donated to a local Starlight-affiliated hospital. 

In 2007, Build-A-Bear Workshop also partnered with Disney to create Build-A-Bear and Disney "Give the Gift of Friendship," especially for hospitalized children served by Starlight. Build-a-Bear Workshop guests were invited to purchase a Winnie the Pooh Bear, and then create a second Winnie the Pooh Bear free of charge to be donated to a pediatric patient.  This promotion was held in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. 

Build-A-Bear Workshop continues to support Starlight by hosting Great Escapes family activities at their stores throughout the United States.
