Starlight Children’s Foundation is seeking an intern to assist with a range of program services projects. This is a summer internship, and will be from June-September. Recent graduates and current students pursuing a degree in sociology, social work, elementary education, psychology, or related field are encouraged to apply. Internship is unpaid, but academic credit is available.
Intern project may include:
Assisting in the planning, implementation, and execution of Great Escapes, our monthly events for children with life-threatening diseases and their families.
- Processing Great Escapes applications and sending out welcome kits.
- Maintaining Great Escapes database as new families are added.
- Assisting with program fulfillment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word.
- Excellent writing, creative-thinking skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and interpersonal.
- Willingness to work occasionally at a weekend Great Escape.
- Sensitivity and compassion for the population that we serve.
