Program Services Internship - Los Angeles, CA

Starlight Children’s Foundation is seeking an intern to assist with a range of program services projects. This is a summer internship, and will be from June-September. Recent graduates and current students pursuing a degree in sociology, social work, elementary education, psychology, or related field are encouraged to apply. Internship is unpaid, but academic credit is available.

Intern project may include:

Assisting in the planning, implementation, and execution of Great Escapes, our monthly events for children with life-threatening diseases and their families. 

  • Processing Great Escapes applications and sending out welcome kits.
  • Maintaining Great Escapes database as new families are added. 
  • Assisting with program fulfillment. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word.
  • Excellent writing, creative-thinking skills. 
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines in a timely manner. 
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and interpersonal. 
  • Willingness to work occasionally at a weekend Great Escape. 
  • Sensitivity and compassion for the population that we serve.
