Volunteer Spotlight
Zurich International
The Zurich International volunteer team has been a tremendous help to us in every way possible. Members of the team, coordinated by Robin Marshall, have helped run our silent auctions at both the Starlight International Ladies Golf Tournament and this year's A Stellar Night gala. The team also helped ensure that our holiday party for Starlight families went off without a hitch as they not only volunteered at the event, but they also helped gift wrap the over 300 presents that Santa presented to the children. Additionally, many members of the team are present at our monthly Hospital Happenings. We couldn't do what we do without the help of great volunteers like those from Zurich and we truly appreciate all of their help!
Stan Brodka
Stan Brodka is the type of volunteer that every nonprofit dreams of. He is the type of guy who you could call upon any time of day, any day of the week, and not only will he be there for you but he will complain that he isn't doing enough to help. Well, Stan, you are doing more then enough. Whether it be a fundraising event, selling raffle tickets or spreading the message of Starlight, Stan is our go-to guy. In December 2006, Starlight Atlanta was proud to honor Stan as one of our top volunteers of the year.
Lauren Creek and Jennifer Cobb
We couldn't have asked for better interns in 2006 than we have had in Lauren Cheek and Jennifer Cobb! The two of have helped us immensely, be it at Great Escapes events, Hospital Happenings or around the office. The girls put together our October Hospital Happenings, "Mascot Mania", almost entirely themselves and it turned out to be our most successful "Mascot Mania" to date! As the emcees for the events, Lauren and Jennifer got the crowds pumped up and excited for the eight Atlanta area team mascots and the Falcons cheerleaders who participated in the events. "Mascot Mania" wouldn't have been nearly as successful as it was without their leadership. Our families and our office have been lucky to have them and were sad to see them go! They are greatly missed but will surely never forgotten and will always be a part of our Starlight family!
