Actress Bailee Madison Named StarPower Spokesperson
Starlight has named 10-year-old actress Bailee Madison spokesperson of its StarPower kids-helping-kids program. Bailee had already been a StarPower Ambassador for some time before accepting her new role: inspiring youth to give back to Starlight and to other youth organizations.
“It was three years ago that I first attended a Starlight event,” says Bailee. “While listening to Corbin Bleu speak that night, I remember turning to my mommy and telling her that I wanted to make a difference. She turned back to me and said, ‘You will.’ and our prayers were answered last summer when I filmed Letters to God. I saw the power that hope, love and compassion have in helping each child find light and laughter during some of their darkest times, which is exactly what Starlight brings to the lives of families every day. I am so very excited for the opportunity to show that no matter how young we are, we can make a difference.”

Power of Youth Earns Rave Reviews from Starlight Families
Starlight families could not say enough about the fun they experienced at Variety’s Power of Youth event, which took place recently at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles.
The event celebrated a select group of outstanding young entertainers who have made significant contributions to philanthropic and charitable causes.
As VIP guests, Starlight children had the chance to rub elbows and take pictures with more than 200 young celebrities and watch live performances by Fame, So You Think You Can Dance, Honor Society, and others.
During a special awards presentation, Starlight spokesperson Corbin Bleu received an award for the work he’s done with Starlight. Entertainers Miranda Cosgrove, Jesse McCartney, Annalynne McCord, and Keke Palmer were also honored for their work for their own chosen charities.
Starlight was named one of the event’s charity beneficiaries, an honor that raised $100,000 to support our mission!
Starlight tweeted live throughout the event—a first for us, and a success! That Saturday, we gained 77 new followers on Twitter who thanked us for sharing all of the red carpet and main stage action.
