In 2012, Northwestern Mutual launched a signature national philanthropic program to accelerate the search for a cure to childhood cancer and to provide support to kids and families facing the daily struggles of this disease.

This long-term commitment will harness the passion and spirit of thousands of Northwestern Mutual employees and financial representatives; their families, friends and clients; and the Northwestern Mutual Foundation to provide help for today and hope for tomorrow.

As part of this program, Starlight and Northwestern Mutual are working together to place Fun Centers in hospitals across the country and to hold Great Escapes events where chronically ill children, including those with cancer, and their families can enjoy relaxing and fun-filled activities.

The Northwestern Mutual Foundation is donating $200,000 to Starlight to kick-off the partnership.
