Starlight and Niagara Cares Partner to Support Pediatric Burn Treatment at Grady

Wednesday, July 26, 2016

The Grady Health Foundation announced today that it has received a $100,000 grant from the Starlight Children’s Foundation to support needed upgrades to pediatric resources within the Grady Hospital burn center. The funding was made possible by Niagara Cares, the charitable arm of Niagara Bottling.

“We are grateful to both the Starlight Children’s Foundation and Niagara Cares for this generous donation, which will allow us to make improvements to Grady’s burn center that will create an enhanced treatment experience for young burn victims,” said Renay Blumenthal, president of the Grady Health Foundation. Thirty percent of the patients seen by Grady’s burn center, one of only two verified centers in the state, are children. The grant will allow the hospital to expand the pediatric outpatient burn clinic and renovate pediatric hydrotherapy treatment equipment.

“Starlight Children’s Foundation harnesses the power of giving to advance children’s health through a global network of community partners like the incredible team at Grady. We are proud to partner with Niagara Cares to fund these improvements that will help young patients through the difficult healing process that comes with severe burns,” added Amy Stillion, Senior Director, Global Impact & Philanthropy, Starlight Children’s Foundation.
