Harmonix Music Systems, Inc. and MTV Games
Through generous cash and in-kind donations, Rock Band® has joined forces with Starlight to bring the power of music to children facing chronic and life-threatening illnesses. Initially, Harmonix Music Systems, Inc., the world’s premier music video game developer, and MTV Games, a part of Viacom’s MTV Networks (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), are making a generous minimum $50,000 gift to Starlight.
In addition, they have donated more than $350,000 worth of Rock Band bundles and kiosks for use at Starlight’s Great Escapes family events, as gifts and prizes for our children and families, and for placement in partner hospitals and organizations.
As the leading authentic music platform, Rock Band products have a powerful, therapeutic effect and provide distractive entertainment therapy for thousands of seriously ill children and their families, both in the hospital setting and on an out-patient basis.
