Are your patients wondering why they need a blood test, or what the doctors are looking for? They probably have questions like: 'Why do I have to have so many blood tests?' 'Where does my blood go?' and 'what do they do with it?'
Your patients can find out the answers to these questions, see what blood looks like under the microscope, and find out what the doctors learn from blood tests in this program.

Exploring Our Incredible Blood is an interactive online game which was developed as a tool for children to actively explore information about medical procedures and conditions in kid-friendly language. Children search for meaning about their illness from a very young age, and studies have shown that children who are provided with information cope more effectively than children who are protected from such knowledge. Interactive media can be helpful in conveying this information, as it provides a way for children to seek information at their own pace, see animations of what is happening in their body or what doctors learn from tests, hear the sounds of machines they will experience, learn from the experiences of peers, and learn coping strategies.
