How One Little Girl Helped Other Children

Sarah with her bearsOne very special little girl in Texas is 7-year-old Sarah who decided to have her birthday party at a local Build-A-Bear Workshop. After hearing about the promotion between Starlight and Build-A-Bear, where visitors can create Winnie the Pooh bears that will be delivered to hospitalized children, Sarah decided she wanted to help. Sarah suffers from severe eczema around her eyes, which causes pain with her eyelids, and, even with this condition, Sarah still wanted to give a child in the hospital something to smile about -- a cuddly teddy bear.

Below is a letter from her mother describing Sarah's excitement in creating these bears:

"I have a child who has a heart for missions and shows great compassion, especially at such a young age.  We will be having her birthday party at Build-a-Bear Workshop tomorrow, and she has been saying all week that she will make a Pooh so that another Pooh will be donated to a hospitalized child.  It makes me very proud.  She is also going to encourage her friends to do the same."

After her day at Build-A-Bear, Sarah was eager to help Starlight Starbright distribute the special Winnie the Pooh bears to hospitalized children.
