How Cancer Warrior Trey Uncovers Inner Strength and Resilience

In early 2023, after a visit to the ER, a mass was discovered on Trey’s brain, resulting in a seven-hour surgery to remove it. But after suffering a post-operative seizure and stroke and losing the ability to move his left side, two-year-old Trey was diagnosed with stage 4 atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor (ATRT), a rare form of brain cancer.

According to his mom, Ebony, Trey has faced many obstacles during ATRT treatment, including countless infections, transfusions, and hearing loss. Still, this cancer warrior continues to have a smile on his face every day.

Trey continues to fight and find the strength through it all. He has a very outgoing personality and shines! Not even cancer can take that away from him!

Throughout his journey, Starlight Hospital Gowns encouraged Trey and Ebony’s strength and courage to keep fighting and aided in easing anxiety during hospitalizations.

“Starlight Gowns have supported Trey during very challenging times,” Ebony told us. “They’ve helped him display his inner strength despite facing daunting moments during treatment. Not even cancer can keep him from looking his best and fighting with a smile!”

Trey is now four years old and loves exploring the world, singing, and dancing.  After being in remission for nine months, Trey’s cancer recently returned. Trey and his family continue to endure through treatments and procedures, including laser ablation brain surgery last month.
