What Inspires Stream for Starlight Ambassadors to Go Live?

Why Stream for Starlight: kaethefae_ grew up going to the hospital as a child. When times were tough, she could turn to playing video games on a gaming station at her hospital. She streams for Starlight now to give other kids the same feeling of normalcy she had.  

Favorite Starlight Memory:   

"One of my first times raising money for Starlight with 1UP Gaming Festival, my mom came into her first charity stream viewing and learned how to donate all by herself, just so I could get pie-d in the face. The said pieing was hilarious and entertaining to say the least. We do anything for the children, right?”

Why Stream for Starlight: Chrissy was inspired to support Starlight’s mission because a family member spent a significant amount of her life in and out of the hospital. She is dedicated to improving the hospital experiences for kids, driven by her personal connection to the challenges faced by hospitalized children and their families.  

The Impact She’s Made: By rallying her community during a Twitch Rivals event, she raised over $56,000 with a match for Starlight. 

Why Stream for Starlight: It means so much to DDS618 to know that he can make a hospitalized kid smile to support their healing process. When he streams for Starlight, it means he can continue to make an impact, and his community can take part in changing the lives of seriously ill kids.  

Favorite S4S Memory: “My community has always wanted me to play a scary game. I finally did it with Poppy's Playtime. Some folks say this isn't scary, but I'm a very easily scared person, so this is a clip of me being 100% scared!”

Why Stream for Starlight: For Pix_Stitch, there's no greater joy than seeing a child's eyes light up the whole room when they find that one thing they love. By streaming for Starlight, these are the types of moments he gets to make happen for kids.   

Part of why he streams for Starlight each year is because the charity checks all the boxes he looks for. They’re active in communities on Twitch, transparent and score highly on charity rating groups. 

Favorite Starlight Memory: “There was a little boy in our community who was watching my stream through his mom. His younger brother uses Starlight programs routinely, and he saw the good work that we were doing as a community. In a selfless act, the little boy donated his $20 allowance to our campaign as a way of saying thank you for helping kids all over, and especially his little brother who he loves so much.”

Why Stream for Starlight: Ash loves streaming because she has conversations with people around comfort and joy. Those values make her feel connected with Starlight, as the charity provides comfort and joy to seriously ill kids and their families.

Favorite Starlight Memory: AshSaidHi once did drawing streams to raise money for Starlight. For $5 she drew peoples favorite video game characters. It was a success! Watch one of the clips from that campaign here.

Why Stream for Starlight: KiindaLiinda strives to uplift and bring hope to those who need it. When she has fun fundraising for Starlight, she gets to help seriously ill kids have fun when they need it most.   

Favorite Starlight Memory: “One of my community members shared a story regarding a family member of theirs who had an extensive hospital stay. They mentioned how scary it was and how bringing some toys and games from home helped them get through it. It made me realize I wasn't only giving back to the organization, but to members of my community as well.”

Why Stream for Starlight: WildSpice has been fundraising for Starlight since 2022, bringing her fun and chaotic energy to her streams. She blends entertainment and empathy to make a real impact for hospitalized kids.  

Favorite Starlight Memory: “My favorite memory is streaming Super Mario RPG while raising money for Starlight this past last holiday season. We had a blast being nostalgic over this game and passing our original fundraising goal - FOR THE KIDS! It's always a blast streaming for this cause.” 

Why Stream for Starlight: EclipseRaccoon was inspired by fellow content creators to do charity streams. The perfect opportunity came up when she was invited to join the stream team Panda Network to deliver happiness to seriously ill kids. She takes part in building a positive and supportive Stream for Starlight community. 

Favorite Starlight Memory: “One of my favorite moments is from Spring Stream when I raised $1600. I placed my first handheld station at a hospital that I chose, and did the chicken dance on stream for reaching that goal!”  

Why Stream for Starlight: Kushter aims to spread hope and positivity, using her voice to spread awareness about how Starlight impacts and delivers happiness to seriously ill kids. With her charity stream team Kushy’s Star Streamers, she guides, grows and glows with people around her. 

Favorite Starlight Memory: “I think my favorite moment was when we hit the 5k goal and were able to fund a gaming station for a local hospital. It was such a special moment that the team and I were able to celebrate.”  

Why Stream for Starlight: IAmNahmu is passionate about connecting with others and uplifting causes close to his heart, including bringing joy to seriously ill kids and their families. 

Favorite Starlight Memory: “My favorite moment is when I participated in Starlight's Press Start pancake stacking contest with other streamers. I destroyed my kitchen but it was fun and I glad to meet up with other Starlight streamers.”
