Who can set up a campaign? 
Anyone age 13 or over. 

Can I stream outside of Starlight’s campaign dates? 
Yes! You can stream for Starlight year-round!

What platform can I stream on?
There are several live streaming services to choose from, like YouTube, Twitch, Facebook Live, and Instagram Live. The use of any service is subject to the service’s own terms, conditions, and policies. You can find helpful starter guides out there for each of these services.

Starlight Children’s Foundation does not endorse any streaming service.

Do I have to play games? 
You can stream anything – from a cooking lesson to an “ask me anything”– to fundraise for seriously ill children. Just set up your personal fundraising page and spread the word about your stream. 

What games can I stream? 
You can stream any game with an ESRB rating of Mature or lower. Note that any content deemed “off-brand” cannot be shared or featured on our socials. Furthermore, streaming content deemed objectionable by Starlight Children’s Foundation in its sole discretion will be cause for your account to be banned from the program.

What can I do during my stream? 
We encourage you to be creative and have fun! Offering quirky incentives and prizes to your community is a great way to get them engaged. 

That said, there are a few rules: 

• No sexually explicit, degrading, hateful, bigoted, violent or excessively profane language or visuals

• No encouragement of risky, violent, or otherwise inappropriate conduct 

• No streaming while intoxicated 

• No illegal drugs or paraphernalia 

• No advertising or other commercial content 

• No endorsement of any religious or political cause or candidate

• No content that violates the rights of any other person, such as their publicity, privacy, or intellectual property rights 

Note that streaming content deemed objectionable by Starlight Children’s Foundation in its sole discretion will be cause for your account to be banned from the program.  

How can people donate during my stream? 
There are so many ways to fundraise while you stream. Check out our Fundraising Quick Start Guide.

You can use Facebook or Instagram’s donate stickers or our Tiltify or Streamlabs campaign for a fun, stream-friendly donating experience.

You can also set up a personal fundraising page on Starlight’s website to allow supporters to donate directly to Starlight.

Note that if you receive cash, you should convert that to a check or money order before you mail it to us and that, per law, we will send a tax receipt to the person who wrote the check.

Where do the funds go? 
All funds go directly to Starlight Children’s Foundation. We are a top-rated charity on Charity Navigator and 78 cents of every dollar directly funds programs that impact seriously ill kids. See Starlight’s Financials page for more information.

Can my team stream toward a common goal?
Yes! We encourage it. When setting up your Tiltify campaign, select team, rather than individual. Here is a quick start guide.

Do teams share prizes? 
No, prizes are earned on an individual basis. 

Are donations to Starlight Children’s Foundation tax-deductible? 
Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Each donation will be receipted with the information needed for your taxes. Please consult your tax advisor with any questions. 

If I collect a percentage of sale of a product or service, what do I do next? 
Transmit any funds collected to Starlight within 30 days of the close of your activation. You can make the donation through our donation page or mail a check to Starlight at:
