3 Spooktacular Successful Halloween Fundraising Ideas
With fall and autumn comes the spooky season – and another chance to have fun while doing good!
Looking for creative fundraising ideas this Halloween?
Take inspiration from Starlight’s community Ghostbusters fundraising groups and their smashing success!

1. Yard Full of Frights (and Funds!)
Jeff, member of the Los Angeles Ghostbusters (LAGB), went all out decorating his house for Halloween.
The past two years, he created yard signs that he placed around his house, showcasing the new Ghostbusters-themed gowns with a QR code to donate. He raised $1,800!
This year, he set a goal to raise $2,000. He hosted visitors every day and night as they stopped to see his house and raised over $3,000.
He also hosted an event with the LAGB to engage the community and raised an additional $1,000!

2. Gift Package Galore
The Orlando Ghostbusters were invited to Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail in Plant City, FL. They came up with the idea where participants could bid on a gift package that included community-donated items and Ghostbusters gear.
The package also included a special “Rent a Buster” feature, where Ghostbusters escorted guests through the haunted houses and trails to help make the experience less scary. They raised $900 from the gift package donation.
The Ghostbusters also went around “busting” and “fighting” animatronics and scareactors around the trail!
The Orlando Ghostbusters advice is to reach out to your local haunts and events and see how you might be involved.
“Reach out to your local haunts and events and see what you can do, they are usually very open to having Ghostbusters at their haunt and it really works out great with the guests.”
- Orlando Ghostbusters

3. Frightfully Fun Festivals & Photo Opps
The Ghostbusters Texas Rangers Division are headed over to their local fall festival Rest in Plano in Plano, TX.
In addition to setting up a booth to fundraise for Starlight, the Ghostbusters plan to do photo-opps with a replica Ecto-1 vehicle and the group!
Boo-st Kids Fun and Play
Starlight’s staff has supported Ghostbusters groups since 2021, providing the assets, resources and guidance to help them fundraise over $95,000!
The Ghostbusters have impacted 71 hospitals across 29 states, helping fund the delivery of over 5000 Ghostbusters-themed Starlight Hospital Gowns!
Still, our work is not done. There are thousands of kids who need fun and play in the hospital during Halloween. You can provide that for them.
Be the hero for hospitalized kids and fundraise with Starlight today.
