Child Life Specialist Lyssa Adams Honored with Starlight Golden Hero Award

In celebration of Starlight’s 40th anniversary, we are honored to be able to turn the spotlight to the incredible hospitals, partners, and individuals we work with every day to fulfill our mission – delivering happiness to seriously ill kids and their families. 

Starlight is excited to recognize Lyssa Adams, Certified Child Life Specialist at Children’s Clinic for Rehabilitative Services, with the Golden Hero Award. Lyssa is dedicated to helping her patients through their illnesses and working with Starlight to help transform their hospital experiences.  

Lyssa and Starlight have worked closely together to support Children’s Clinics’ community events, like their Back-to-School and Halloween events, while also providing the team with the full suite of Starlight programs. Our programs, especially Starlight Deliveries, provide Lyssa and her team with much-needed resources as they serve the entire community, seeing children from birth to young adulthood.

Children’s Clinics is a comprehensive medical home that offers southern Arizona’s families a unique environment to meet the health care needs of their children with more than 25 medical and dental specialty clinics, primary care, behavioral health, and therapy services under one roof.In addition to general pediatrics, many of their patients have complex medical conditions such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, cardiac conditions, sickle cell, and more.  

Lyssa shows up every day for her patients that need her support and without individuals like her, who work with pediatric patients across the country, Starlight wouldn’t be able to deliver on our mission.
