Heroes for Hospitalized Kids: MoneyGram Haas F1 Team
Since 2021, MoneyGram Haas F1 team and Starlight Children’s Foundation have teamed up to deliver happiness to hospitalized kids nationwide.
The MoneyGram Haas F1 Team made their highly impressive debut in 2016, and in the process became the first all-American-led F1 squad in three decades. The MoneyGram Haas F1 team is building a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program comprised of work across both the environmental and the social aspects of sustainability.
Starlight has been supported through the Gene Haas Foundation and its community grant arm. The two organizations will continue to partner in supporting the local communities of key F1 races (Miami, Austin, and Las Vegas) as well as its US headquarters (Kannapolis/Charlotte).

Haas-themed Starlight Hospital Gowns
In 2023, Haas donated $35,000 to distribute Haas-themed Starlight Hospital Gowns nationwide to hospitalized kids.
While Haas-themed Starlight Hospital Gowns were distributed across the country, a few hospitals received a special drop off with a visit from drivers themselves!
Drivers delivered the Haas-themed Starlight Hospital Gowns and joined kids and their families in fun games like racing remote controlled cars to bring the thrill and excitement of racing to them. Hospitals included Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, Dell Children’s Hospital, St. David’s Children’s Hospital, and Texas Children’s Hospital in Austin, and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami.
Starlight Families have also had the opportunity to participate in a special racetrack experience at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA).
Fundraising in Action
In 2023, CharityBuzz hosted a charity auction for a race-worn and signed race suit, fundraising $2,522 for Starlight. MoneyGram Haas and Starlight teamed up the following year for a bespoke knitted suit sweepstakes that was featured in a holiday commercial with MoneyGram (see former Haas driver Kevin Magnussen rocking the suit below).
Not only that, but throughout the 2024 season, MoneyGram Haas F1 staff ran, walked, cycled, and roller-skated over 7,000 km as part of their Cardio Club Fitness Challenge, converting every step into support for hospitalized kids. The challenge resulted in a donation of over $18,000.
These fundraising efforts helped provide play-powered programs like Starlight Gaming, Hospital Gowns, and Toy Deliveries to pediatric patients across the country.
The MoneyGram Haas F1 team is one of the community heroes saving the day for hospitalized kids by empowering them with happiness, comfort and a sense of home when they need it most.
