How to Give Happiness this Holiday Season

Seriously ill kids across the country are stuck in the hospital this holiday season, away from the comfort of their own home. The holidays can be tough on kids who are in the hospital – they are often isolated from their family and friends, unable to take part in the traditions they know and love.

With the widespread changes to hospital safety protocol and soaring rates of mental health crises in kids across the country, hospitalized kids need to experience moments of happiness more than ever this holiday season – and you can help!

Girl Receiving Baby Shark Toy

There are so many ways to deliver holiday happiness with Starlight:

  • Donate: Just $25 can deliver happiness to 25 seriously ill kids through programs like Starlight Deliveries, bringing toys, games, books, and other seasonal goodies to kids in the hospital.

  • Give monthly as a Shining Star: With a monthly gift, you can have an even bigger impact by delivering happiness year-round and bringing moments of joy during every season.

  • Fundraise your way: From festive bake sales to virtual holiday sing-alongs, uniting your family and friends to support Starlight’s mission is a great way to help bring cheer to hospitalized kids. Start an online fundraiser today – you can even fundraise on Facebook!

  • Send your warmest wishes to Starlight Kids: Sign our Well Wishes Wall to let Starlight Kids know how much they inspire you! A simple message of love and encouragement can do so much for a child celebrating the holidays in the hospital.

  • Celebrate the season with 12 Days of Streaming: Support Stream For Starlight’s 12 Days of Streaming campaign from December 1-12! From home cooking to music and video games, there’s something for everyone.

No matter how you choose to give, you can deliver moments of happiness when they’re needed most. A toy, game, or book can bring a smile to a child’s face during the holidays — and are sometimes the only things they have in the hospital.

Being in the hospital can sometimes be difficult for kids and families, especially around the holidays. The toys will be great to use for BINGO prizes and gifts for patients throughout the year. Your thoughtfulness and generosity are greatly appreciated.
