Marty McMahon Honored with Excellence in Gaming

Starlight is celebrating our 40th anniversary and we would not have been able to spend the last 40 years fulfilling our mission of delivering happiness to seriously ill kids and their families without the people we work with. This is why we are honored to be able to turn the spotlight onto the incredible partners, hospitals, and individuals that help us deliver on our mission.

At Starlight, we are lucky enough to work with so many amazing hospital employees across the country, like Marty McMahon at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. Marty is responsible for using games, virtual reality, augmented reality, and robotics to enhance the patient experiences, which is exactly why Starlight has awarded him with the Excellence in Gaming.

He encourages social play and team building through group events. He also develops communications and training for other TCH Child Life staff on gaming and tech utilization to better engage with their patients through their existing technologies. Marty has been integral in our program development for Starlight Gaming and Starlight VR.
