Sheri Sobrato Awarded Lifetime Achievement Award

As we celebrate Starlight’s 40th anniversary, we are excited to turn the spotlight on the incredible individuals, hospitals, and partners we work with every day to fulfill our mission: delivering happiness to seriously ill kids and their families. 

Starlight is thrilled to recognize Sheri Sobrato with the Lifetime Achievement Award.  

Sheri cares deeply about giving seriously ill kids the tools they need to build emotional resilience given all they are going through, which is exactly why she founded the Digging Deep Project and Shadow’s Edge mobile game. 

She has been an amazingly generous supporter of Starlight over the years, not only financially, but also in her commitment to providing Starlight Kids with the mental health resources they need. 

• Digging Deep: A Journal for Young People Facing Health Challenges is a tool for clinicians to use with their teen and young adult patients. Each page has an exercise for self-reflection, expression, and exploration. Since 2016, Digging Deep has been provided to hospitals across the country in both hard cover and digital formats. 

• Shadow’s Edge is a mobile game designed to help teens “build resilience in the face of adversity” like health challenges, anxiety, depression or stress. Kids are prompted to journal and create art through the positive power of gaming. 

At Starlight, we understand the impact that mental health can have on physical health, and we are honored to celebrate Sheri’s commitment to this important aspect of healing and well-being. Thank you, Sheri!
