Transforming Hospital Stays: Insmed Delivers Happiness to Children

Since 2022, Insmed has collaborated with Starlight Children’s Foundation to achieve a common goal – to make a positive impact on children facing serious illnesses. Insmed’s aim to transform the lives of patients facing serious diseases aligns with Starlight's mission to deliver happiness to seriously ill children.

Throughout the past four years, Insmed has supported Starlight programs, which has made it possible to donate 24 VR Headsets, 29 Hero Wagons, 600 Patient Activity Kits and 3,000 Hospital Gowns to hospitalized kids.

These donations created moments of comfort, happiness, and play, helping children move beyond fear and uncertainty to feel a sense of calm, control, and most importantly, move beyond fear and uncertainty to feel a sense of calm, control, and most importantly, feel like kids first, and patients second.

Insmed’s employees have been instrumental in supporting the collaboration with Starlight including participating in several projects that have made the donations extra special.

Since the beginning of their collaboration, Starlight and Insmed have worked together to include Insmed employees in projects, which have been integral in expanding their joint impact.

Custom Insmed Starlight Hospital Gowns

The nearly 3,000 Starlight Hospital Gowns donated by Insmed, featured the signature “The World” pattern designed by Kuan, an Insmed employee. When asked what it meant to make an impact for hospitalized kids, Kuan said:

“In addition to always thinking about patients, I am very honored that I can take the extra step and represent Insmed to deliver happiness to these kids. My hope is to add some more color to their day-to-day life and inspire the kids to be positive and curious.”

Starlight distributed the gowns to benefit children in the local communities where Insmed has offices.

Local Hospital Gown and Toy Drop Offs

Insmed employees have had the chance to see their impact in person, delivering handfuls of the company’s custom gown directly to children’s hospitals.

In fact, this past month, Insmed employees got to distribute gowns, toys and crafts to pediatric patients at Dartmouth Health Children’s in New Hampshire, and Goryeb Children’s hospital near two of their office locations.

Lunch-and-Learn Opportunities

To help Insmed employee’s understand the importance of the Starlight collaboration, Starlight participated in lunch-and-learn education sessions.

During these sessions, Insmed team members learned more about the organization’s mission and how they can get involved.

The collaboration with Insmed and Starlight has benefited both organizations immensely. For Insmed, this collaboration supports the company’s strategic social impact goals.
